Something Bigger

copyright 2009 Hannah Phelps
oil on canvas, 9" x 12"

On November 4, 2008, my husband and I voted and then climbed nearby Mount Monadnock. It was something we had planned to do for years and the weather was perfect. There is nothing like standing on a mountaintop to put life in perspective.

Mount Monadnock has been painted by many artists, including my favorite, Charles Woodbury. I painted this a few weeks after that day and have many more ideas from that hike. Any work inspired by this outing could be titled "Something Bigger."
