Milford Sound

On our last full day in New Zealand, we took a ferry tour of Milford Sound. This natural tourist attraction came highly recommended by friends of ours who had experienced it, and it was well worth the scenic eight-hour roundtrip bus ride from our hotel in Queenstown. (We were supposed to fly back to Queenstown on a plane, but the flight was cancelled due to bad weather.) The only way I could portray the height of the rocks rising into the clouds was to paint a tiny boat in the water on the left side.

Not ready to leave New Zealand? We weren't either, and I wonder if anyone ever is. The good news for us two years ago was that we didn't have to come home yet! The next stop on our journey was Sydney, Australia. Stay tuned...
